As water continues to over flow our Bayou’s and River’s, here are a few suggestions that you might want to consider while operating your vehicle on the roadways. It’s always a safe precaution, to plan on leaving for your normal days commute, a little earlier then normal. There may be some wash outs on road paths that occur due to the rising floods, which could lead to motorist having to find alternate routes.
Also, the high water stages that have flooded our woodlands have forced much of the wildlife to seek higher grounds. You may see animals such as deer, hogs and other wood dwelling creatures in roadways as well as atop levees. Slowing down a little while driving is the key during this rare situation of rising waters.
