MARKSVILLE, La., (November 11, 2011) – In keeping with its mission of supporting community organizations, Paragon Casino Resort is kicking off the holiday season with its annual Slots for Tots tournament starting on Monday, November 14 through Sunday, November 27. Paragon patrons can donate a new toy in its original packaging that has a minimum value of $10 or can pay a $10 cash tournament entry fee at the cashier’s booth, located next to the Paragon Preferred Players Club.
The toys will be distributed to non-profit organizations that offer programs providing assistance to underprivileged children in Louisiana, such the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, New Beginnings and the Central Louisiana AIDS support services. All funds collected from the tournament entries will be used to purchase additional toys for the 2011 holiday season.
Participating in the tournament is fun and easy. One section of slot machines will be reserved for the Slots for Tots Tournament and set in tournament mode. The player does not deposit any money into the machine. The machines are set to countdown for seven minutes of play. As the player hits a winning combination, points are accrued. The player with the highest score at the end of the tournament wins first place, second highest score wins second place, continuing through fifth place.
Players can enter the tournament by enrolling at the Paragon Preferred Players Club. Multiple entries are allowed. Tournament participants are eligible to win a variety of prizes including $250 in cash, hotel and spa packages, dinner for two at Legend’s Steakhouse and concert tickets.
“The Tunica Biloxi Tribe and Paragon Casino Resort are honored to continue to support the local community and do our part to help those in need especially during hard economic times. The toy drive has been a tradition for many years that has generated thousands of toys for the children in need of Central Louisiana,” said Chairman Earl J. Barbry, Sr. “Paragon Casino Resort is committed to helping make a difference year-round.”
