I nominate Alina Fitzgerald, co-owner of Abundant Blessings' Discount Grocery in Cottonport. Alina is 34 years old and was recently named NFIB small business woman of the year for 2011 in Avoyelles. Alina and her husband, Chris Fitzgerald founded this discount grocery store in Cottonport on the premise that she was so blessed that she wanted to give back to the community.

This is the only grocery store I have ever been into that does not sell liquor, beer or cigarettes because Alina does not want to put these vices into the community where young children may get addicted. Her extremely low prices on groceries and frozen meats are unbeatable and are priced to stretch the budget of All families in these tough times.

Alina offers prizes to all students that have A's & B's on their report cards. She has Santa Clause in the store every Christmas and takes "Free" pictures with Santa Clause. For Thanksgiving several needy families were surprised with a free turkey and all of the trimmings. Their customers are treated like family and not just customers. She does these type of things everyday and does not want any thanks or recognition.
