Friday COVID update shows only 11 new cases out of 115 tests reviewed

It was another light reporting day for Friday's COVID update for Avoyelles Parish. There were about a third of the tests which resulted in about a third of the number of cases the parish has averaged over the past week or so. There were no additional deaths.
The Friday report reviewed 115 test results which yielded 11 new COVID cases for an overall positive rate of 9.5 percent for the one-day snapshot of COVID in the Crossroads Parish. For this report, the lab tests had the higher positive rate, 11.7 percent compared to 5.2 percent for the rapid result tests.
The pandemic totals for the parish as of Friday were 6.841 cases and 164 deaths over the past 18 months. For the state, there have been 725,637 cases and 13,418 deaths.
