Avoyelles Mustangs continue stampede through 2A playoffs

Will face defending state champs Many Tigers next Friday in semifinal
The Avoyelles Mustangs continued their stampede to the Superdome Friday with a 46-28 victory over the North Caddo Titans. There is only one obstacle remaining -- the defending 2A champion Many Tigers, who eliminated the Rosepine Eagles, 50-12, in the other top bracket quarterfinal contest Friday.
Avoyelles will face Many in the semifinals next Friday in a rematch of their earlier District 3-AA meeting, which ended with a last-minute 34-30 Many victory on Oct. 15.
It will be the Mustangs' third game against District 3-AA rivals. Avoyelles defeated Bunkie in Round 1 and Winnfield in Round 2.
