Apparent winners in three legislative races

In the three legislative races affecting Avoyeles Parish, Heather Cloud is the apparent winner in Senate District 28 and Daryl Deshotel appears to be the winner in State Representative District 28. In Senate District 32, which represents a small part of Avoyelles, final but unofficial results show Glen Womack elected with 50.11 percent of the vote in a four-candidate contest.
Cloud had 63.37 percent of the vote for Senate District 28 with 146 of 154 precincts reporting. Deshotel had 61.4 percent of the votes with 42 of 49 precincts -- all in Avoyelles -- reporting.
