Bunkie PD ‘cleans up’ roster during May meeting

At the May Bunkie Council meeting, there were a lot of names terminated from the police department but there will not be any less police officers on the roads.
A list of inactive people who had been with the Bunkie Police Department was presented to the Council for termination.
“These are people who don’t work with us anymore and haven’t for sometime, we just have not officially taken them off the department roster,” Police Chief Scott Ferguson said.
In other business, NCMC, LLC, the contractor for Contract No. 4- Wastewater Treatment Plant Facility Renovations announced the renovations had been completed.
The council also waived the drinking and open container ordinance for four days, June 9-12 for liquor sales at the Louisiana Corn Festival.
Sidney Farr, Jr. was named by the Council to the Airport Authority Commission.
