Cottonport police officers to get $50 holiday pay

Working as a police officer on holidays just a got a little easier to bear.
The Cottonport Council approved a $50 holiday pay for those officers working on holidays.
The policy was adopted and co-authorized by Police Chief Jennifer Lofton. The extra pay will coincide with the Town Hall’s holiday schedule.
In other business, the council also gave permission to submit applications for two grants before the June deadlines.
On a motion by Kenneth Friels and seconded by Curtis Francisco, Pan Engineers was given permission to submit an application for the FY 2022-23 Local Government Assistance Program (LGAP).
The second motion, by the same councilmen, also allowed Pan American Engineers to submit an application for the FY 2022-23 Community Water Enrichment Fund (CWEF).
