‘Mike Neck Day’ set Friday

KAPB Radio will hold an open house and dedication of its new studio from 1-4 p.m. Friday.

The Marksville City Council declared the day to be “Mike Neck Day” in honor of the late radio personality and former city police chief who died in December.

“We want to do right by Mike,” station owner Todd Laborde said.

Light refreshments will be served.

Laborde bought the radio station in February 2017 and immediately began extensive renovations to the building and the station’s music format.

The renovations are still underway but “we have done enough to show the public,” Laborde noted.

The station is located at 520 Chester Street off Tunica Drive in Marksville.
