La. Hwy. 1178 near Avoyelles/St. Landry Parish line to be closed on Monday, July 2

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that LA 1178, Morrow, Avoyelles Parish, will be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad track. The work is being done at milepost 0.020 and is on control section 805-21.

The closure will be Monday, July 2, 2018 from 8:00 AM with a re-opening to traffic at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 2, 2018. The closure is for Union Pacific Railroad to adjust the track thru the crossing.

Permit/Detour Section
The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time.

Detour Route:
The detour will be LA 1178 West to US 71 North to LA 115 East to LA 29 North to LA 1178 East
Due to short notice the road will be opened if any oversized permitted loads come thru!

The detour can accept oversized loads. The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public.
All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
