Avoyelles Parish was hit with another double-digit increase in the number of newly identified COVID-19 cases, but made it through another day with no additional deaths from the persistent virus.
As of Tuesday's update from the state health department, Avoyelles Parish's total number of COVID cases was 2,142.
A man who was shot Friday (Nov. 27) night has been declared "brain dead" but is on life support until his donated organs can be retrieved, Avoyelles Coroner Dr. James Bordelon said.
There was very little change in Avoyelles Parish's COVID numbers with Monday's daily update from the Louisiana Department of Health. There was only four new cases since Sunday's report.
