What would have been a very good daily update in Avoyelles Parish's battle against COVID was spoiled by one bit of bad news.
What would have been a very good daily update in Avoyelles Parish's battle against COVID was spoiled by one bit of bad news.
As tropical rainstorm Beta makes its way toward Avoyelles, the parish has been placed under a tornado watch and flash flood warning -- both set to expire at 10 p.m.
Although only a "tropical rainstorm," Beta dumped up to 15 inches of rain on the Houston area over a three-day period as it seemed to almost hover off the Texas coast.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning in this area until 2:15 p.m.
There have been reports that at least two rural Avoyelles Parish churches have been identified as possible hotspots of COVID infection.
