Members of the Cajun Santas non-profit organization gathered prior to the holidays to distribute toys to children of Avoyelles Parish. For at least the next few months, items bought in Marksville will cost a little less.
As of noon today (Jan. 24), an early-morning shooting death in Marksville is still under investigation and no arrests had been made, Marksville Police Chief Elster Smith said.
It has been smooth sailing for the Lady Vikings basketball team of Avoyelles Public Charter so far this season.
