Avoyelles School District graduation rate nears national average

For the second year in a row, the Avoyelles Parish School District has a higher high school graduation rate than the state average, district officials announced by Facebook post this past week.<
Jerry LaFleur, a 37-year veteran of the U.S. Diplomatic Courier Service, spoke at the 100th anniversary celebration of the service this past November. LaFleur, of Eola, was director of the Courier Service twice in the 1980s and 1990s.
