Allen Deloach, 84, Effie

Mr Deloach, aged 84, went home to be with the Lord on November 30 at his residence in Effie
after an extended illness. Born August 12, 1938 in Effie, he is preceded in death by his parents
Kelly & Gertrude Deloach. He is also preceded in death by his siblings WK Deloach, Elaine
Dauzat, LG Deloach, Rayburn Deloach, & Lettie Michiels.

Allen is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Ponthieu Deloach; son Brenden (Julie) of Woodworth; daughter Naralyn
(Michael) of Palm City, FL; granddaughter Ana (Dylan) VanEaton of Shreveport; grandsons
Julian & Owen Durbin of Palm City, FL; and many nieces & nephews.

The youngest of six children, Allen was a lifelong resident of Effie and member of Oak Grove
Church.In 1956, straight out of high school, he joined a construction business as well as the National Guard. Throughout his lengthy career, he was employed by Ratcliff construction,
Skip Converse, and Yaeger Watson and had a hand in building many commercial buildings and schools throughout the state.

His love of sports began at Lafargue High School where he was part of the basketball team.
Later in life he was often found supporting local school teams on the sidelines and in parades
making sure everyone stayed hydrated. He spent many hours traveling the state in support of
Marksville High, Buckeye High, Grace Christian School, and LSUA teams and cheer. During
football season, he was sure to check in regularly with his grandsons on the Packers & the rest
of the NFL. In fall and winter he could be found hunting with his son (and son-in-law when he
was in town). Another lifelong passion was tending to his massive garden & small ranch. He
could be found all hours of the day at the field tending his peas, corn, watermelons,
butterbeans, etc or out in the pasture tending his goats.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be, Wayne Deloach, Lynn Deloach, Tommy Deloach, Kelvin Deloach, Reggie Deloach, & David Dauzat.

Honorary pallbearers honored to serve will be, Michael Durbin, Julian Durbin, Owen Durbin, Charles Regan, Ray Touchstone, Dylan VanEaton, Louis Michiels, Randy Deloach, Wendell Deloach, LG Deloach, Sandy Laborde, and Steve Lavery.

Amant, and all the friends and family who brought food during his illness.

Funeral Services for Mr. Deloach will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 6, 2022 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Marksville with Dr. Philip Robertson Officiating. Burial will be in French Cemetery, Effie, La.
