BATON ROUGE - Funeral services for Bernal Peter Bacon were held on 12 noon on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge with Rev. Shan VanNorman officiating. Interment followed in Greenoaks Cemetery in Baton Rouge under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
Bernal Peter Bacon, age 86, was a native of Louisiana, and resident of Amite County, Mississippi. He passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Wilkinson County Nursing Home in Centreville, Mississippi. He was born June 26, 1931 in Plaucheville, the son of Oscar Bacon and Eunice Kimbal Bacon. He was a maintenance supervisor with Louisiana Department of Corrections, a member of Enterprise Baptist Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Eunice Bacon; and one grandson, Brad Bacon.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Raye Wilkinson Bacon; sons, Darrell (Patty) Bacon, Bruce (Mary) Bacon, Mike Hudson and Mark (Angie) Hudson; daughters, Debbie (Doug) Staples and Robin (Buddy) Deville; grandchildren, Ricky, Daniel, Jennifer, Devon, Tiffany, Ryan, Justin, Kaycie, Diana, Danielle, Jean and John; and great-grandchildren, Zoie, Zachary, Seth, Dakota, Kylar, Christian, Gracey, Destini, Brycen, Kymber, Hayden and Aubree.
All of his grandsons will be pallbearers.
