BELLEDEAU - A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Betty Ann Ducote on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Belledeau with Father Kurian Zachariah officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home in Bunkie.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Melancon Funeral Home on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6 p.m. and resume on Monday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Mrs. Ducote, 77, of Hessmer passed away on July 13, 2018 at Rapides Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Born on April 13, 1941, Mrs. Ducote was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Belledeau. She was born and raised in Cottonport and was a homemaker and caregiver her entire life.  
Mrs. Ducote is preceded in death by her husband, Clyston J. Ducote; her son, Jerry J. Ducote; her grandson, Kenneth James Walls; her parents, Widnor Ducote Sr. and Laura Ducote; seven brothers, Elbon Ducote, Reese Ducote, Elton Ducote, Wallace Ducote, Widnor Ducote Jr., Jerry Ducote and Paul Ducote; and four sisters, Livonia Ducote, Doris Fabre, Rita Whatley and Rose Lee Jeansonne.
Mrs. Ducote is survived by her two daughters, Melissa (Clark) Anderson of Hessmer and Christine (John) Walls of Bunkie; her daughter in- law, Christine Ducote of Bunkie; one sister, Rosemary (Jerry) Firmin of Denham Springs and one brother, Dennis Ducote of Kenner; six grandchildren, Jamie Ducote, Ryan Ducote, Kasi Ducote, Megan Anderson, Brooke Anderson and Summer Anderson; and five great-grandchildren, Colton Ducote, Kylan Ducote, Jerry Ducote, Emma Ducote and Lillian Anderson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Clark Anderson, John Walls, Ryan Ducote, Colton Ducote, John Fabre, Blake Guillot and Donald Gauthier, Jr.
