Funeral Services for Infant Cruz James McClelland will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the chapel of Kramer Funeral Home of Fifth Ward with Rev. Dwight de Jesus officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery in Echo.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Cruz James McClelland passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Opelousas General Hospital.
Cruz is preceded in death by his grandfather, Byron Soileau; great grandparents, Tommy McDaniel, JoAnn Fontana, Girard and Shirley Dauzat; great great-grandparents, Russell and Anna Grace Leger, Harry and Myrtle Guillot; and two cousins, Benjamin Rosonet and Vincent McDaniel.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Gabriella Piazza; his father, Christopher McClelland; paternal grandmother, Roxie Soileau; maternal grandmother, Amy Thevenot and her husband, Cory; paternal grandfather, Bryan Dauzat and his wife, Monica; maternal grandfather, Raymond Piazza and his wife, Casey; and eight aunts and uncles, Claire Thevenot, Patrick Piazza, Carlee Piazza, Chesne Piazza, Austin McClelland, Jonathan McClelland, Ethan Bernard and Michael Dauzat.
Cruz’s mother, Gabriella, wrote so beautifully a message to Cruz, “You are your mommy and daddy’s world. We were so ready for you and to make endless memories with you. Now, we make our memories with you looking down and watching.”
Pallbearers honored to serve include Cruz’s Godfather, Shawn Williams, Jonathan McClelland, Ethan Bernard and Michael Dauzat.
Cruz’s parents would like to extend special thanks to his great aunt, Stephanie Rosonet; his grandmother, Roxie Soileau; and the caring RN from Opelousas General, Ms. Anna Marie.
