A Memorial service for Mr. Dan Vernon Starkey will be held at a later late.
Mr. Starkey, age 69, of Fifth Ward, formerly of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his residence. Born on September 19, 1948, Dan was licensed as an extra class amateur radio (HAM) operator who enjoyed flying as a pilot. He also served in the U.S. Navy from which he retired and was also a licensed Notary.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Beulah Jean McClain.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Jason (Ashley) Starkey of Hessmer; two brothers, Mike Starkey of West Virginia, John Starkey of Montana; and one grandchild, Katelynn Starkey.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital at 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103.
