Donald Ray “Speedy” Guillory, 71 of Alexandria

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Donald Ray “Speedy” Guillory will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Alexandria with Reverend Chad Partain officiating, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Visitation will be observed Saturday, at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Donald Ray “Speedy” Guillory, 71, of Alexandria, passed from this life on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Speedy as he was known to those that knew and loved him was a member of both St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and the USBC. During his professional career he worked as a Plant Operator for D. G. Hunter, where he retired after 23 years of service. He was an avid bow hunter and fisherman. Speedy enjoyed time spent with his family and bowling, he was on a league at England Air Park. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Devin Ray Guillory; mother, Anna Laura Lee Guillory; father, Delta J. Guillory; stepmother, Carol Guillory and a brother, Scott Guillory.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kay Thibaut Guillory; son Kevin Ray Guillory; daughters, Emily Gross (Jerald) and Melissa Williams (Jamey); grandchildren, Trenton, Jamilyn and Kaylan Williams, Alisa and Laura Gross; brothers, Delta Guillory, Michael Guillory (Carolyn) and Steve Guillory (Cheryl); sisters, Donna Church and Patricia Newman (Earl) and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve include Cameron Bennett, Trenton Williams, Tyler Mitchell, Chris Davis, Tyler Davis and Aaron Woodruff. Honorary pallbearers are Jerald Gross and Jamey Williams.

The family has designated The American Heart Association, 4501 Jackson Street, Suite C, Alexandria, LA 71303, for memorial contributions.
