Edna Louise Roy, 57, Cottonport

Funeral Mass for Edna Louise Roy “Big Lou” of Cottonport will begin at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport with Fr. John Wiltse officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura.

Edna Louise Roy, age 57, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. Edna was born on November 7, 1965, to the late John Albert Day, Sr. & Theresa Lavalais Day. She accepted Christ at an early age and she was baptized at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Moreauville.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Troy Day (Geraldine), Anthony Day, Sr., Richard Day, Nicole Day, Gwendolyn Day; siblings, Georgia Bradford (Jimmie), Margaret Eggins (Charles), Diana Thomas, Tony Day, Terry Day, Leon Day, and Felix Day (Donna). She is also survived by grandchildren: Tionna Lavalais, Naomi Nash, Rhianda Nash, Ja’Niah Day, Za’Riyah Day, Gi’Selle Day. Markeil Day, Jakeil Day, and Anthony Day, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Sahari Robertson & Kay’Lee Lavalais; special cousin, Deola Jenkins; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Felix Day, Troy Day, Ronnie Day, Nicholas James, Christopher Francisco, Odeal Bradford, Ronald James, Chris Prier, Jr., and Justin James. Honorary pallbearers: Troy Day, Richard Day, Anthony Day, Felix Day, Terry Day, and Tony Day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John, Sr. and Theresa Lavalais Day; siblings, Joseph Day, Benita Day, Mary Day, Gwendolyn Bradford, and John Albert Day, Jr.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am until 11:45am on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport.

The family of Edna Louise Day wishes to extend sincere thanks and deep gratitude for many expressions of sympathy, love, prayers, and consideration shown in the time of our bereavement. We would also like to thank the staff at Cabrini Hospital for all they’ve done for the family, may God bless every one of you.
