MOREAUVILLE - Funeral Mass for Gayle Marcotte Laborde, resident of Lafayette originally from Moreauville, will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 beginning at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 beginning at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville with Rosary wake service being held at 7 p.m.
Gayle Marcotte Laborde, age 77, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by family in Lafayette. She was born on November 4, 1941.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaston and Henrietta Marcotte; siblings, Ira Marcotte, Gene Marcotte, Madelyn Marcotte Rabalais, Shirley Marcotte Danehower and Thurston Marcotte.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, P.J. Laborde, Jr., resident of Lafayette and originally of Bordelonville; children, Jay Laborde of Marksville, Jeanne Laborde (Ronald) Eversberg of Lafayette, David (Katherine Vollman) Laborde of Lafayette, and Anne Laborde (Joel) Plauche of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren: Brandi, Vanessa, Tyler, Johnathan, Ashton, David Charles, Austin, Olivia, Thomas, Madeline, Joel, Paul, Ava, and Natalie; and three great-grandchildren: Aaron, Addie, and Beau.
