Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Cooper, Sr. will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Brother James Cooper officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Cooper, age 62, of Deville passed from this life on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester Cooper, Sr. and Mabel Bordelon Cooper and brother, Ellis Cooper.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Roxie Barton Cooper of Deville; two sons, Gerald Cooper, Jr. (Dana) of Brouillette, Dewayne Cooper (Emily) of Brouillette; four daughters, Kristy Cooper (Nelson) of Deville, Monica Cooper of Deville, Brittany Dauzat (Joshua) of Brouillette, Chelsey St. Romain of Deville; four brothers, Frank Ducote, Lester Cooper, Jr., Terrell Cooper, Bruce Cooper, all of Marksville; five sisters, Rose Saxton, Diane Higgins, Janet Fountain, Jeanette Bordelon, all of Marksville, Cheryl Paunetto of Jacksonville, FL; 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until time of service on Friday in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Joshua Dauzat, Nelson Dauzat, Austin Cloud, Brandon Baker, Kade Hebert, and Adam St. Romain. Honorary pallbearer will be Drake Dauzat.
