Helen Dubroc, 102

Helen Robert Dubroc, born in Luling, Louisiana, longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, died on March 18, 2022, at the age of 102. She was a graduate of Leon Godchaux High School in Reserve, Louisiana and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Helen will be missed by three generations, in whom her strong will and appreciation of nature live on. She is survived by her four children, Virginia Dubroc Gremillion (Mike) of Houston, Texas, Carmen Dubroc (Lew Haber) of New York City, Robert Dubroc (Dianne Moody) of Marksville, Louisiana, and Dorothy Dubroc Thomas (Mike Dowling) of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Dr. Helen Gremillion (Nigel Pizzini) of Auckland, New Zealand, John Gremillion of Houston, Texas, Amy Dubroc Fontenot (Derek) of Lafayette, Louisiana, Jennifer Thomas Pistorius (Randy) of Baton Rouge, and Dr. Claire Thomas of Oakland, California; and three great grandchildren, Alex Pizzini of Auckland, and Hunter and Haley Fontenot of Lafayette. The family extends thanks to the staffs of Whealdon Estates, Williamsburg, Heart Hospice, and The Crossing who treated Helen so thoughtfully. Special thanks also go to Wanda Babin, her son Mike, and others at Jefferson Square townhomes in Baton Rouge, where Helen resided happily for over 30 years. Deep gratitude also goes to Dr. Salvador Velasquez and nurse Veronda Mitchell for their loving care. There will be a private memorial service at a later date followed by burial at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Moreauville, Louisiana.
