Jerome West, 55, Bunkie

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Jerome Paul West on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 1:00m p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melançon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

The family requests that visitation, following COVID guidelines, be observed at Melançon Funeral Home on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. and resume on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Mr. West, age 55, of Bunkie, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was a Navy veteran. He was a millright leadman for Martco, having been employed there for thirty-one years. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph West.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Melissa “Missy” Hemmerly West of Bunkie; his daughter Katie West LeBlanc and husband, Jordan, of Abbeville; his son, Dylan James West and wife, Shanna, of Hessmer; his mother, Shrella West of Bunkie; his three sisters, Vickie W. Mellino and husband, Michael, of Tyler, TX, Phyllis W. Turner and husband, Michael, of Bunkie and Melissa W. East of Bunkie and five grandchildren, Carter Anthony West, Lily Elizabeth West, Emilie Grace West, Adam James West and Khloe Anne LeBlanc.
