BUNKIE - Funeral services for Joy Landrum Nash will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church with Rev. Elizabeth Ratcliff officiating. Burial will be in Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Melancon Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and resume on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Mrs. Nash, age 73, of Bunkie, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 28 in her residence. Born on January 3, 1945, she was a graduate of Simpson High School and Northwestern State University. She was a Home Economics teacher at Morrow High School and then at Bunkie High School. In 1979, she was promoted to the Food Service Director of the Avoyelles Parish School System and remained the director until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Nash; her parents, William and O'Lee Hildebrand Landrum; her two sisters, Earle Temple and Yvonne Danzy; and her brother, Buddy Landrum.
She is survived by her daughter, LeLe (Thomas) Soileau of Bunkie; her son, Trey Nash of Midland, Texas; her two sisters, Winnie Bennett of Woodworth and Ollie Jo (Don) Stetson of Kingston, Arizona; and her precious granddaughter, Frances.
