MARKSVILLE - Memorial services for Joyce Marie Coco Browning of Marksville will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Visitation will be held at 12 noon until services on Saturday, August 11, 2018.
Joyce Browning, age 85 of Marksville, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018. She was born on January 28, 1933, the fourth child of John R. and Della Ponthieux Coco. An intrepid, never-give-up person, Joyce fought the ravages of her long-term illnesses to her last breath. Those privileged to be relatives and friends can rejoice in memories of her inspiring, spirited approached to all things . Joyce was the most considerate and loyal person imaginable. She absolutely had no enemies. From the first moment of meeting Joyce, new acquaintances felt the unconditional acceptance she bestowed on everyone. Despite daily ravages of her illnesses, Joyce’s remarkable, other directed way came forth to uplift those who called or came by. No one ever heard Joyce utter an unkindness about anyone. Fairness, decency, respect and zest for life were her hallmarks. Her life’s greater achievements we just being who she was. Joyce Browning was the epitome of goodness and love.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Richard Coco, Jesse Coco, J.V. Coco and Sylvia Fuglaar.
Survivors include her husband Dr. Gilbert Browning of Marksville; children, Renee (Robert) Guthrie of Austin, Texas, Sarah Bess (Jose Luis) Alston of Bryan, Texas and John (Charlene) Browning of Pineville; and grandchildren, Emily Guthrie and Sarah Guthrie.
