Levy M. Brulte, 79, Moreauville

Levy M. Brulte passed away peacefully at the Community Living Center in the VA Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 at the age of 79. His final days were spent surrounded by his family and friends.

He was the beloved father of Barbara B. Guerra and stepfather to the late David L. McQuaig and Kenneth J. McQuaig, Jr. Son-in-law of Melvin A. Guerra, Jr. Proud grandfather of Collin A. Guerra and Christian A. Guerra. Brother of Geneva B. LaBorde and Ethel B. Aguzin (Joey). Uncle of Steve LaBorde (Wendy), Christopher LaBorde (Dawn) and Joseph Aguzin (Leslie). He was also survived by his aunt, Mary Ann Lemoine Bardwell. Son of the late Byron B. Brulte, Jr. and Minnie Lemoine Brulte.

Levy was born and raised in Moreauville, La. and was a current resident of St. Bernard, La.

He was a veteran with the United States Marine Corps. He loved his country and proudly served in the Vietnam War. Throughout his life, he presented himself with a tough stance, but deep down he had a heart of gold. He will always be remembered for his love for his family. He was well loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the VA Hospital’s Palliative Team for their care during this difficult time, and to his VA home care nurse, Angel Nicosia, for her dedication and care during this past year.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 9986 Bayou Des Glaises Street, Moreauville, La. on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at 9:30am, followed by a funeral mass in Levy’s memory beginning at 10:30am.

He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with Military Funeral Honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Levy request that masses be said in his honor.
