Lloyd Gauthier, Cottonport

LLOYD S. GAUTHIER

Lloyd S. Gauthier, 69, of Cottonport, Louisiana was peacefully united with the Lord on Friday, April 29, 2022. Lloyd was born on September 23, 1952 in Cottonport to Leland and Beverly Gauthier. A celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church with Father John officiating on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
Lloyd was a 1971 graduate of Cottonport High School and resided in Cottonport his entire life. Lloyd retired from the lumber industry after serving over 38 years, alongside his brother, Pierre.
Outside of his business, Lloyd was a loving father, son, grandfather, brother, and husband who had a passion for life. He enjoyed spending time with his children, family, and friends. Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Other than family, a few of his favorite things were making a supper with friends, turning a pig, cold weather, and celebrating Easter. Lloyd never met a stranger. Most of all, he made the dash between his birthdate and departure date count. He lived life to the fullest while his body allowed him. Lloyd was gregarious and loved to laugh. He loved fiercely and deeply and the family is comforted in knowing that he, certainly, made the “in-between” count. His life’s stories and adventures will live on through the memories he experienced with his family and friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his mother and father, Beverly and Leland Gauthier . He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Debbie Gauthier; daughter Kristy Dauzat and husband Blaine; daughter Mandy Stevenson and husband James, son Jake Gauthier and wife Summer, brother Pierre Gauthier and wife Deborah, sister Addie Jo Cook and husband Fred; and granddaughters Haley Dauzat and Morgan Gauthier.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Avoyelles Manor Nursing Center and Compassionate Harbor Hospice for all of the loving, gentle care they expressed through this difficult time.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St Mary’s St. Mary's Assumption School.
