Marksville – Funeral services for Maria Verbal Hudson Sampson will be held at Congregational First Baptist Church on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Gonzales, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
The Sampson family has requested a visitation to be held at Congregational First Baptist Church on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Ms. Sampson, age 80 of Marksville, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 7:19 a.m.
Ms. Sampson was preceded in death by her two spouses, Edward Hudson and Kazmar Sampson; parents, Jack and Mary Baker Thomas; children, Edward Hudson, Jr., Brenda Hudson, Abagail Bateman; and siblings, Kobe Jones, Ruth Sullivan, Lillie Mae Jones, Bessie Edwards and Verline Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Carl (Beverly) Hudson, Sr. of Mansura, Melvin (Wanda) Hudson of Marksville, Wilson (Ophelia) Hudson of Baytown, Texas, Beverly (Alex) Antoine of Marksville; her sister, Josephine Alexis of Marksville; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers honored to serve are, Ryan Antoine, Shannon Antoine, Alex Antoine, Alex Shawn Antoine, Wilson Hudson and Carl Hudson.
