Morris Lacombe, 79, Hessmer

Funeral services for Mr. Morris Wayne Lacombe will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, LA. with Father Edwin Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be held at Cushman Cemetery in Marksville, LA. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Morris Lacombe, age 79, of Hessmer, LA. passed away peacefully at his residence in Hessmer, LA. on May 5, 2022.
Mr. Lacombe proudly served our country in the United States Navy, serving six years. He later served in the Louisiana Army National Guard, and retired as a Staff Sergeant after numerous years of service. He also retired from Philsbury Company, and Allen Canning Company after working over 40 years. He was an advid hunter and fisherman. His favorite Holiday was Easter.
Mr. Lacombe is preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Ethel” Lacombe; one son, Jeffery Lacombe; daughters, Susan Lachney and Janet Filipi; parents, Morris and Agnes Laborde Lacombe; grandson, Daniel Gagnard; great grandson, Sawyer Ridgeway; Brother-in-law Voris Mitchell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Louis Filipi (Amy) of Effie; daughters, Melissa Lacombe of Hessmer, Roxanne Brevelle (Mark) of Marksville, and Stephany Dauzat (Gary) of Marksville; brother, John Lacombe of Fifthward; sister, Cheryl Mitchell of Albany, LA; 22 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Monday, May 9, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Zachary Dauzat, Corey Armand, Brady Brevelle, Nocoma Clark, Louis Filipi, Jr., Zander Armand, Mark Haven Lacombe, Harold Armand and Adam Brevelle.
