COTTONPORT - Funeral Mass for Muriel "Lou" Normand of Cottonport will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s No. 2 Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport
Muriel Normand, age 82, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Alexandria. Born on September 20, 1935, Muriel was a member of the Cottonport Quilters Club and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Inez Merrick; and sister, Jean Claire Merrick.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark (Kathi) Normand of Lafayette, Ned (Patricia) Normand of Pineville, Wayne (Lisa) Normand of Evergreen and Clay (Roxanne Gaspard) Normand of Cottonport; siblings, Max M. Merrick, Jr. of Cottonport, Carl J. Merrick of Aboard, Beth Merrick of Baton Rouge and Scott S. Merrick of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, Jaime Normand, Taylor Normand, Robert Normand, Zach Normand, Jacob Normand and Amber Kelone; and three great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jacob Normand, Robert Normand, Zach Normand, Christian Merrick, Paul Kelone, Stephen Merrick and William Mayer.
