EFFIE - Funeral services for Ms. Rita “Belgard” Sims will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with Reverend Ron Nation officiating. Interment will follow in Richey Cemetery in Effie under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will resume on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 9 p.m. until time of service.
  Ms. Sims, age 68, of Deville, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Rapides Regional Medical Center. Born on October 29, 1949, Rita was a retired medical transcriptionist. She was a long time member of Big Island Baptist Church and most recently a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a very accomplished piano player, loved to sing and was a dedicated Christian. Rita will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
  Ms. Sims is preceded in death by her parents, B. W. and Rena Sims.
  Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her former husband Wyatt Belgard of Toledo Bend; her daughters, Misty Belgard (Beth Saltzman) of Pineville, Kristy Belgard of Toledo Bend; her stepmother, Ethel Sims of Centerpoint; her stepbrother, Aubrey Smith of Deville; and her grandchild, Peyton Richard of New Orleans.
