Rita Fontenot West, age 82, of Bayou Chicot

Funeral services for Rita Fontenot West will be Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Landry Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Hukins and Steve Sawtelle officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
The family requests that visitation be observed at the St. Landry Baptist Church on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and resume on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Rita Fontenot West, age 82, of Bayou Chicot, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Prosper Fontenot, Sr.; one son, Brian West and one grandson, Jonathan West.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas West of Bayou Chicot; one daughter, Linda Deville of Ville Platte; three sons, Thomas "Slim" West and wife, Rhonda, of St. Landry, James West and wife, Renee', of St. Landry and Mark West and wife, Alicia, of Bayou Chicot; three sisters, Deanna Rollins of Mamou, Ferrell Taffy of Pine Prairie and Ruby Gilbert of West Monroe; one brother, Prosper Fontenot, Jr. of Reddell; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Robbie West, Jackson West, David Tubre, Kevin Burkett, Jason Lohman, and Samantha West. Honorary Pallbearer is Sherri West.
