FIFTH WARD - A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Anthony Guillot will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Kunnumpuram and Rev. Kurian Zachariah officiating. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum under the direction of Kramer of Fifth Ward.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018, and resume from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018, at the funeral home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018, in the chapel.
Robert Anthony Guillot, age 74, of Fifth Ward, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018, in his residence surrounded by family. Born on July 21, 1943, Bob was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Born and raised in Fifth Ward, Bob graduated high school in 1961 from Fifth Ward High School. Following high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and served his country for eight years. During his service, Bob met and married Marjorie Buchanan and together they were married for 52 years. Bob retired from Southwest Beverage Company in Alexandria after 40 years in the beer industry. Bob loved to work with his hands. He spent many hours in his shop making bird houses, tables, and refinishing furniture. Bob also loved to fish and hunt. Bob enjoyed his afternoon visits with “the guys” solving the worlds problems over a few cold ones. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and deeply loved them. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Rosney and Nora Guillot; and a brother, Warren Guillot.
Those left to cherish his memory includes his wife of 52 years, Marjorie Buchanan Guillot; a daughter, Susan (Eugene Jr.) Dupuy of Kenner; a son, Erik (Leslie) Guillot of Harahan; one sister, Lucy Dauzat of Pineville; two brothers, John Wayne (Pat) Guillot of Fifth Ward and Harry (Sandy) Guillot of Pineville; three grandchildren, Kelly Dupuy (Chris) Babin. Riley Collette Guillot and Brock Mitchell Guillot; one great-grandson, Cole Anthony Babin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
Pallbearers honored to serve include Chris Babin, John Ross Guillot, Jamie Guillot, Michael Ryder, Brock Guillot, Blake Berzas. Honorary pallbearers include Harry Guillot, Wayne Guillot, Cole Babin, and Phillip Brouillette.
The Guillot Family would like to thank the staff of Dr. James Bordelon, Dr. Saccaro, Kasey Gill, and the staff of CHRISTUS Cabrini Cancer Center. The family also wishes to thank everyone at All Saints Hospice and all the friends and family for the love and care shown to the family during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the Guillot Family asked that memorials be sent to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1315 Eggbend Rd. Fifth Ward, LA 71351.
