EFFIE - Funeral services for Mrs. Rowena Sayer Feauqua will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Father Dutch Voltz officiating. Interment will be at Oak grove Cemetery in Effie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until time of funeral service. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Mrs. Feauqua, age 94, of Effie, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Oak Haven Community Care Center in Center Point. Born on November 22, 1923, Mrs. Feauqua was a member of St. Winifred Catholic Church and also served as a rural postal carrier for Center Point, Effie and Vick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Laura Bonnette Sayer; husband, Cleveland “Alton” Feauqua; and one sister, Ouida Belle Sayer Spiers. Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Robert Lambing of Deville, Lloyd (Margie) Lambing of Center Point, Glenn (Dottie) Lambing of Blanchard; two daughters, Elaine (Richard) Smith of Many, Marlene (Bob) Sonnier of Lafayette; one brother, Richard Sayer of Alexandria; nine grandchildren, Jason Lambing, Anthony Lambing, Brandon Lambing, Richard Lambing, Jeffrey Lambing, Brekk Smith, Jolie Smith, Caitlin Russo and Gannon Sonnier; ten great-grandchildren, Derick Lambing, Megan Tyler, Jared Lambing, William Lambing, Caroline Lambing, Bethany Lambing, Troy Lambing, MiKayla Smith, Noah Smith and Hunter Smith and four great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Lambing, Gabby Lambing, Michael Dupuy and Colton Tyler. Pallbearers honored to serve are Jason Lambing, Anthony Lambing, Brandon Lambing, Richard Lambing, Brekk Smith and Gannon Sonnier. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeffrey Lambing.
