MARKSVILLE - Funeral services for Mr. Roy Joseph Ledet, Sr. will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Brother Jake Dardar officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph #2 Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville from 7 a.m. until time of funeral service.
Mr. Ledet, age 89, of Marksville, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville. Born on September 2, 1928, Roy Ledet served in the United States Air Force, owned and operated the Marksville NAPA store for over 30 years and served on the Marksville Fire Department for 30 years. His love for hunting and fishing was his passion as well as his weekly card games. Roy loved to cook for family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone with a construction project. Although he is no longer physically in our presence, he will always be in our hearts and memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Ledet and Lola Moreau Ledet; wife, Evelyn Ledet; and two sisters, Cora Desselle and Nell Bernard.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Joey (Donna) Ledet of Marksville; three grandchildren, Eric Ledet, Michael Ledet and Amber Ledet; five great-grandchildren, Sebastian Dubroc, Lily Ledet, Forrest Ledet, Adelyn Iverson and Brylee Ledet.
