BUNKIE - Funeral services for Viola Washington of Bunkie will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2nd St. Paul Baptist Church in Bunkie with Rev. Eldria Lavallais officiating the funeral services. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ford and Joseph Funeral Home of Opelousas.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at 2nd St. Paul Baptist Church.
Mrs. Viola Washington, age 94, who passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Bunkie General Hospital in Bunkie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Washington, Sr.; her parents, Andrew and Lovenia Simmons; one son, Donald Ray Washington; one daughter, Dianna Washington; one grandson, Rev. Tyrone Washington; one daughter-in-law, Doris Faye Washington; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Cherishing Mrs. Washington’s memories are her three sons, Milton (Lena) Washington, Jr. of Bunkie, Tilton Washington of Bunkie and Daniel Washington of Bunkie; her three daughters, Adlene Washington of Bunkie, Linda W. (Willie) Robinson of Bunkie and Marie (David) Washington of Bunkie and her granddaughter whom she reared as her own, Vallery Martin of Zachary; one brother, Israel Simmons of Houston, Texas; two daughters-in-law, Stephanie Washington of Bunkie and Lena Washington of Bunkie; 26 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 52 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
