It's on to the quarterfinals for Avoyelles

Mustangs defeat Winnfield, 30-21 in Round 2 of 2A playoffs
The Avoyelles Mustangs advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2A state high school football playoffs with a 30-21 victory over the Winnfield Tigers Friday night.
The No. 4 Mustangs will face the No. 5 North Caddo Titans in Vivian next Friday. North Caddo defeated DeQuncey, 58-28.
The other two District 3-AA teams in Round 2 will not have a rematch of their regular season meeting next week. The No. 1 Many Tigers easily dispatched #17 East Feliciana, 51-22. The No. 9 Red River Bulldogs fell one vote short in their contest with No. 8 Rosepine, 43-42.
If Avoyelles and Many are able to win their quarterfinal games, they would meet in the semifinals -- giving the Mustangs an opportunity to avenge the 34-30 loss to Many earlier this season.
