Active scene in Cottonport

UPDATE: In a statement from the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office: Offender (escapee) in custody. Investigation ongoing. Press release with more details to follow in the morning.

A home near the corner of St. John and Camille Streets in Cottonport is currently surrounded by law enforcement including Louisiana State Police and SWAT.
Tim Ryan with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office said it was still an active scene as of 6:30 p.m. and no further information was available at this time.
Ryan said a release on the incident will be sent out once the scene was secure and the incident was over.
