St Mary school moves dismissal up to 2:30 pm

The following has been announced by St Mary’s Assumption in Cottonport:
Parents,

We are told to expect potentially severe weather this afternoon. (Rapides Parish public schools dismissed today at 11:30.) I think we are fine.....for the most part. It appears the worst should get to us anywhere from 3:15 to 5:00. Just to be safe and to allow for all students and staff to get home safely, we will move dismissal up today to 2:30. So we will begin car pick up at 2:30, rather than 2:55. I hope this doesn't create too big of an inconvenience for you, but I'd rather play it safe than have it hit a little early and have us in the worst of it at dismissal and as you (and our staff) are driving home. Also, there will be no aftercare today so all of our staff members can also make it home safely. Please be sure your child is picked up no later than 2:55. Thank you for your cooperation.
