Edward Charles Brooks, 92, Mansura

Funeral Mass for Edward Charles Brooks of Mansura will take place at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Mansura on Thursday, December 28th, 2023 beginning at 11:00am with Fr. Blake Deshautelle officiating. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura.

Edward Charles Brooks, age 92, passed away at Avoyelles Hospital of Marksville on Sunday, December 17th, 2023.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Patricia Holmes Brooks; his children, Stewart Brooks (Jennifer), Louise Brooks-Batiste (Christopher), Jeffery Brooks (Wanda), Sheila Brooks, Tracey Brooks, Erwin Brooks, Fetinia Crocken (Thatcher), Brad Brooks (Terese), Quintetta Keene-Brooks, and Tyrone Brooks; daughter-in-law, Linda Brooks; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his in-laws, Sarah Brooks, Rodney Homes (Gwen), Waver St. Romain (Jerome); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rodrick Brooks; parents, Harry & Louisiana Sampson Brooks; siblings, Lillian Prier, Lucille Batiste, Antoinette Brooks, Mary Genese Johnson, Mitchell Brooks, and Adam Gerald Brooks.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2023 from 8:00am until 11:00am at the Escude’ Funeral Home of Mansura. The holy rosary will be recited at the funeral home.
