Jeanette Rabalais, 79, Pineville

A mass of Christian burial for Jeanette Marie Rabalais will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church located at 3659 Main St, Hessmer, with Father Dan O’Connor officiating. Entombment will be at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church Mausoleum following the service.

Jeanette Rabalais, age 79, of Pineville, entered into rest on January 2, 2024. She was born in Bunkie, Louisiana, to Ann and Elster Rabalais.

Jeanette was a lifelong parishioner of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer and a very devout Catholic. She retired from the Avoyelles Parish School Board after twenty-five years working in transportation for handicapped children. Jeanette was notorious for her good cooking and known for her comical and electric personality. She was always the life of the party and never met a stranger. Jeanette always made sure her friends and family were well taken care of. She never failed to put her children first and she lived for her family and God.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Rabalais; father, Elster Henry Rabalais; brother, Sam Keith Rabalais; sister, Shirley Rabalais Jeansonne; grandparents, Leon and Sedonia Bonnette, Sam and Benita Poche’ Rabalais; nephew, Jody Jeansonne, her dear cousin, Ronald Coulon; and her in-laws, Curtis and Alice Dauzat.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; Tony K. Dauzat (Susie) of Hessmer and Robbie A. Dauzat of Pineville, daughter; Sherrie D. Dauzat (Chris) of Hessmer, nephew; Judd Jeansonne of Baton Rouge; her very dear cousin, Doris Coulon of Moncla; and two very dear best friends; Elaine Aymond and Flo Mouton. Six grandchildren; Tiffany Huffman (Adam) of Walker, Caitlin Dauzat of Alexandria, Sara Dauzat (Adam) of Goudeau, Kristie Townley of Conroe, Texas, Amber Moras of Hessmer, and Jessica Hayes (Dustin) of Hessmer. Eight great grandchildren, Greyson, Bella, Emmilin, Rusty, Weslee, Adam, Alyvia, and Carson.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home located at 334 Acton Road in Marksville. A resuscitation of The Holy Rosary will begin at 5:00 p.m.
