Joy Elizabeth Floyd, 58, Alexandria

Joy Elizabeth Floyd, 58, of Alexandria, Louisiana passed away on December 31st, 2023, in her home. Lizzie loved her family, loved her life, and passed away much too young. Lizzie is the daughter of Joy Greer. She is preceded in death by her father, the late Ronald Eary, and her maternal Aunt Mary “Mick” Smith. In addition to her mother, and husband Brian Greer, Lizzie is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Robert Floyd, her two daughters, Emilie and husband Andrew Stout of West Monroe, LA; Hannah and her husband Shane Jones of Alexandria, LA; and 5 grandchildren, Sadie, Austin, Troy, Jessa, and Kyla; sister, Deana Huff of Pineville, LA, and brother, John Paul Eary of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Lizzie never met a stranger. She spent the last 23 years as a loyal Sales Representative for Sayes Office Supply, where she loved her customers and got to help others, which she was so passionate about. She had a perpetual smile, which she passed on to her children and her grandchildren. Lizzie was a proud southern lady, a lover of rock and roll music, and she loved to visit New Orleans and cheer for the Saints as often as possible. Lizzie had a lust for life and was known to be an open-hearted hostess for any occasion. She will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Services for the life of Lizzie Floyd will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4401 Bayou Rapides Road, Alexandria, at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5th. Celebration of Life will be immediately following in the Parish Hall. In memory of Lizzie’s life, in lieu of flowers, we ask that you plant a sunflower in our sweet Lizzie’s name.
