Knights of Columbus to host 7th Annual Bass Tournament

Knights of Columbus Council 1217 will host its Seventh Annual Bass Tournament on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Spring Bayou, Boggy Bayou Landing inviting anglers and families from across Avoyelles Parish to take part in a day of fishing, fellowship, and friendly competition

Registration will begin at 4 a.m. at the landing, with fishing scheduled from safe daylight until 2 p.m. The tournament entry fee is $90 per boat, with anglers allowed to pick their partner

A five-fish limit with a 12-inch minimum will be enforced. An optional Big Bass pot will be available for $10 per boat with 100 percent payback

An additional $100 prize will be awarded for the biggest trash fish

Cash prizes will be awarded to top finishers:

  • $1,000 for first place
  • $500 for second
  • $250 for third
  • $150 for fourth

Food, including burgers 🍔 and chips, along with raffle tickets 🎟️ and same-day prize drawings, will be available during registration and weigh-ins, making the event a family-friendly outing

Tournament organizers said proceeds support the Knights of Columbus’ religious and charitable efforts within the community 🌟 Anglers and supporters are encouraged to attend and help continue the council’s tradition of service

22nd Annual Spring Bayou Bass Tournament set for March 14

The 22nd Annual Spring Bayou Bass Tournament will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Spring Bayou Complex in Marksville combining competitive fishing with a military appreciation and community event

The tournament is supported by the Louisiana Army National Guard 1020th Engineer Company, the Spring Bayou Restoration Team and the Marksville VFW Post 3139

Entry is $90 per boat, with anglers fishing as two-person teams

The tournament requires a five-fish limit with a 12-inch minimum length

Big bass will be awarded separately at $10 per team

Payout is listed at 100 percent, with prizes awarded to the top five places

Prize payouts are listed as follows:

  • $1,000 for first place
  • $500 for second place
  • $200 for third place
  • $150 for fourth place
  • $100 for fifth place

Fishing will take place during safe daylight hours until 2 p.m. Tournament rules include a five-fish limit per team, artificial lures only, and all healthy live fish will be released. All boats must be properly equipped and follow Louisiana wildlife and fisheries regulations. In the event of a tie, the largest fish in your limit will serve as the tie-breaker

Hamburgers, chips 🍔 and soft drinks will be sold at the weigh-in. Families are welcome, and participants are asked to bring the family for the event

Registration will open at 5 a.m. the morning of the tournament

A signed release and waiver form is required for all participants prior to fishing
