APPJ Adopts Demolition Regulations for Abandoned or Blighted Structures The Avoyelles Parish Police Jury has adopted new regulations governing the demolition of abandoned or blighted buildings located within the parish under Jury jurisdiction. The regulations were approved at the Jury’s July 2025 regular meeting and are now in effect.

Road District 2 voters rejected the 20-mill, 10-year tax renewal on Nov. 15, with unofficial results showing 75 percent voting against it and 25 percent in favor. A total of 685 ballots were cast across the district’s 17 precincts for a turnout of 13.3 percent. The renewal would
