Avoyelles Charter Vikings Cross Country teams dominate Johnny Miller Memorial Run
The Avoyelles Charter School Vikings Cross Country teams turned in an impressive performance at the 31st Annual Johnny Miller Memorial Run held October 15 in Oak Hill. Both the Viking boys’ and girls’ teams captured championship titles, showcasing the depth and determination of the program.
In the boys’ division, Lawson Juneau led the pack, taking first place overall, followed closely by teammates Daniel Luu, Preston Soileau, Eli Meche, Conner Barbin, and Huck Hill — all finishing within the top ten.
The Lady Vikings matched the boys’ success, with Olivia Desselle claiming first place overall in the girls’ race. Teammates Kylee Lemoine, Ada Borne, Lyla Knoll, Kinsley Sumrall, and Ada Bordelon also placed within the top ten, securing the team title.
Coach Lee Marsh praised the runners for their commitment and unity throughout the season.
“These athletes have trained hard every day, and their results reflect their dedication,” Marsh said.
Both Viking teams continue to build momentum as they head into the postseason, representing Avoyelles Charter School with pride and excellence.
