📝 Avoyelles Retired Teachers Fall Meeting on Dec. 10!

The Avoyelles Retired Teachers Association (ARTA) will hold its fall meeting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Marksville Main Branch Meeting Room of the Avoyelles Parish Library, located at 660 N. Main Street in Marksville. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The program will feature a representative from the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office, who will speak about scams targeting senior citizens. A complimentary lunch, sponsored by Y-Not-Stop/St. Romain Oil, will be served. Members are asked to confirm their attendance by emailing michroy@bellsouth.net.

Dues of $10 for 2026 may be paid at the meeting or mailed to ARTA, c/o Susan Jeansonne, P.O. Box 387, Hessmer, LA 71341. The deadline for dues payments is Jan. 30, 2026.

Organizers hope all current members will attend and encourage them to bring another retired teacher for new membership opportunities, important information, and a chance to win door prizes.
