Big Changes Coming to The Avoyelles Journal
The Avoyelles Journal is making important changes designed to better serve our readers and
advertisers across Avoyelles Parish.
Beginning this month, The Journal will move from a weekly schedule to a biweekly publication, distributed every other Wednesday. This adjustment allows us to continue providing trusted local coverage while operating more efficiently in today’s changing print environment.
The biggest improvement comes in how the paper will now be delivered. Instead of being thrown into driveways, ditches, or along roadways, The Avoyelles Journal will now be mailed directly into residents’ mailboxes throughout the parish. This ensures that every copy of the paper is placed directly in readers’ hands when they check their mail.
This change helps reduce litter, eliminates papers being tossed at empty homes or businesses, and guarantees that more citizens actually receive and read their local news. It also gives advertisers greater confidence that their messages are reaching real people in every household.
“We are committed to making sure our readers get their paper directly, and that our advertisers get the best possible value for their investment,” said the team at Building a Better Avoyelles.
“Mail delivery is more reliable and helps us strengthen our connection to the community.”
Past advertisers who may have paused their support are encouraged to return. The Avoyelles Journal now offers affordable ad space and insert options that reach every mailbox in Avoyelles Parish for a fraction of what it would cost to mail materials individually.
As sponsorship and advertising levels increase, it is possible that The Avoyelles Journal could return to weekly publication, continuing to be mailed directly to parish households.
