Bingo, gumbo and giving back: Three Avoyelles fundraisers to mark on your calendar
Avoyelles residents can support local organizations at an Open Hands fundraiser in Bordelonville and two bingo nights in Bunkie this November.
Open Hands fundraiser: Nov. 7 in Bordelonville
Open Hands Sharing God’s Love, a Christian nonprofit dedicated to helping Avoyelles Parish residents facing hardships beyond their control, will hold its annual fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Bordelonville Fire Department.
The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. until noon at 4465 Hwy. 451 in Bordelonville, with a live auction beginning at 10 a.m.
The family-friendly fundraiser will feature hamburgers and fries, fried fish, homemade cakes, live and silent auctions, a rummage sale table, children's activities and face painting.
The organization works to provide assistance to individuals and families throughout Avoyelles Parish who are experiencing difficult circumstances. The annual event is its only fundraiser of the year, making community participation and support especially important to its mission.
Organizers encourage residents to bring their families, enjoy a morning of food and activities, and help support the nonprofit's continued efforts to serve neighbors in need.
